The popular board game is brought to life in a fun-filled musical. The world’s best-known suspects invite the audience to help solve the mystery. Audience members select the cards secretly revealing who killed Mr. Boddy, in what room, and with what weapon. One hard-nosed detective attempts to unravel the merry mayhem. Comic antics, witty lyrics, and a beguiling score carry the investigation from room to room to catch the culprit. With 216 possible endings, and the audience playing along this is a delightful and colorful crowd-pleaser.

Sublime beauty awaits you at the Season Finale concerts, “From Darkness to Light.” The program features Morten Lauridsen’s beloved Lux Aeterna, Gabriel Fauré’s ever-popular Cantique de Jean Racine, and Welsh composer Paul Mealor’s richly sonorous Stabat Mater. The chorus is joined by the Metropolis Symphony Orchestra and Soprano Angela De Venuto. Music Director John C. Hughes conducts.
The Orion Ensemble presents its final performances after playing together for 35 years. The program includes Khachaturian’s Trio for Clarinet, Violin and Piano; Prokofiev’s Overture on Hebrew Themes for Clarinet, Two Violins, Viola, Cello and Piano; and Brahms’ Quintet in F minor for Two Violins, Viola, Cello and Piano. An exhibition of twenty-four original paintings created by the Plein Air Painters of Rockford depicts Rockford iconic scenes and surprises. Artworks include views of Klehm, Sinnissippi Gardens, Midway Village, Indian Hill Manor and many more. The exhibit is located in the Visitor Center at Klehm Arboretum.
Have you found yourself worrying that those pesky little bugs seem to be everywhere lately? You might be right, tick populations are on the rise, and new species may be appearing in our area. You can help us understand what’s really happening by collecting ticks anytime you, your family members, or even your pets encounter them.
Join Extension Specialist Dr. Teresa Steckler for an informative presentation, “Ticks in Illinois,” at the Lake County Extension Office, 100 South US Hwy 45 in Grayslake, on May 4 at 11 a.m.During this session, you’ll learn about Dr. Steckler’s ongoing research on ticks and discover how you can contribute to an important citizen science project by volunteering to gather data. Your participation helps build a clearer picture of tick activity across the region. There will be plenty of time for questions afterwards.
Registration for this program is $5, and all participants will receive a U of I Extension tick kit and other program materials to take home after the presentation.
