Nurture is a mixed media art exhibit that focuses on artists' perspective of the concept of Nurture. Join us to experience the inspiration and expressive interpretation of Nurture though art.
The Divine Sister is an outrageous comic homage to nearly every Hollywood film involving nuns!
St. Veronica’s indomitable Mother Superior is determined to build a new school for her Pittsburgh convent.
Along the way, there is a young postulant experiencing “visions,” sexual hysteria among the sisters, a sensitive schoolboy in need of mentoring, a mysterious nun from the Mother House in Berlin, and a former suitor intent on luring Mother Superior away from her vows!

Almost two dozen original paintings of flowers and trees by members of the Plein Air Painters of Rockford. This exhibit is in cooperation with Klehm Arboretums event - Garden Fair.
Register on the first day of Summer Reading for Read, White and Blue! Resource Bank will be in the lobby to distribute bookmarks and treats between 10:00 and 1:00 p.m. Children may then collect a clock sheet to track their reading, and they will be set to earn reading rewards and enjoy a summer of reading and other colorful activities at the library.
Teens and adults may also register for Summer Reading beginning June 1.
Summer reading is free and open to all.

Open call to young local artists entering grades 3-6! Showcase your talent at our 2nd Annual Children’s Art and Poetry Gala. In honor of our countries' 250th birthday, our theme for 2026 is, “What does freedom mean to you?” Children’s artwork and poetry will be professionally displayed in our main lobby, accompanied by music and refreshments.

Official Rules and Regulations
Open to children entering grades 3-6.Participants must bring entries to the Youth Services department for “in-person” registration.All entries must be of appropriate content and language for public viewing and approved by Youth Services staff.All entries must be submitted and approved by 4pm Friday, May 22nd, 2026, to be included in the Gala event. The “What Does Freedom Mean?” theme is encouraged, but artwork and poetry may consist of other subjects as well. All entries must be original content and artwork, by the named artist.All artwork entries must be no larger than 24”x 24”, and no smaller than 6”x 6” for proper formatting.All poetry must be 100 words or less for proper formatting.All participants and their legal guardian must sign a release waiver from damages at registration.All 2D art must be matted for display. Assistance with this is available after signing the release form, from any damage to artwork that may result from matting. Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists and the Genoa Park District invite the public to join them for a FREE community presentation, “Stretch, Play, Recover: Pickleball Tips” on Tuesday, June 2 at 9:00 am. This will be held on the outdoor courts (weather permitting – indoor location available in case of inclement weather) at the Genoa Park District, 400 E. 2nd Street in Genoa. This event is free and open to the public; registration is required.
“Stretch, Play, Recover: Pickleball Tips” is presented by Northern Rehab’s Certified Athletic Trainer Beth Schwarz. This fun and informative session is designed for Pickleball players of all levels. Learn simple and effective warm-up and cool-down stretches to help prevent injuries, improve mobility, and keep you feeling your best on the court. Attendees are encouraged to participate during the event, so please come dressed to play and wear proper court shoes.

Join Emily Graslie on a journey through deep time in Prehistoric Road Trip. Traveling across the western United States, Emily explores ancient landscapes where fossils and expert insights reveal the stories of long-extinct worlds. In “Welcome to Fossil Country,” she begins in Wyoming’s Medicine Bow Mountains, uncovering evidence of 2.5 billion-year-old life and tracing the evolution of early organisms, from tiny fish to towering dinosaurs. Along the way, she connects with scientists to discover how fossils form and what they tell us about Earth’s distant past. The program is free and open to the public. It is approximately 53 minutes long and rated G and is made possible through Kanopy.
