A family road trip takes an unexpected turn when, in the dark of night, on the plains of eastern Oregon. . . reality splits.
WSSR takes another left turn with "California," a play that takes place entirely inside a car. Join us for this unique immersive experience that blends a quirky family comedy with the eerie darkness surrounding a long abandoned nuclear facility.
Directed by Claire Dahlhauser, this intimate production explores the humor and power of family bonds in a world where the map keeps rewriting itself.
Claire's credits include Legally Blonde, The Wedding Singer (Starlight Theatre) and Macbeth (Starlight Shakes) and she recently served as assistant director for last season's production of POTUS at WSSR.

In 1950, Margaret Chase Smith was the junior Senator from Maine and the only woman in the Senate. A staunch Republican, she nevertheless bucked her party and the prevailing winds of politics when she took to the floor of the Senate to denounce Senator Joseph McCarthy in a speech she called, “a declaration of conscience.”
Members of St. Charles Singers
March brings a first for Rendezvous: a vocal ensemble. Eight extraordinary voices from the St. Charles Singers will fill the stage, led by conductor Jeff Hunt. This internationally touring choir has earned acclaim around the world, yet they remain rooted in the western suburbs. Now, they bring their artistry to Dixon, Lake Forest, and Chicago in a program that promises both power and intimacy.
The music is paired with the live art of Tina Druce-Hoffman, a storyteller at heart whose plein-air paintings are infused with wonder, folktale imagery, and the magic of nature. During these performances, Tina will create in real time, responding to the sound and spirit of what she sees and hears. Her brushwork becomes part of the performance, a visual echo of the music unfolding around her.
Music that soars. Art that responds in the moment. This is a Rendezvous Arts debut you’ll want to witness.

The deadly siege at the United States Capitol in 2021 exposed the consequences of widespread anger and baseless conspiracy theories. At the same time, the disappearance of more than 2,000 newspapers nationwide has revealed a direct link between the decline of trusted local news and the rise of dangerous misinformation. As reliable sources vanish, many communities are left without accurate, independent reporting, deepening a national misinformation crisis.
News Matters explores this cause-and-effect relationship by examining the erosion of America’s newspaper industry and its implications for democratic institutions. The film follows the high-profile effort to save The Denver Post, highlighting the broader struggle to preserve local journalism at a time when its role in American democracy is increasingly at risk. The film is 1 hour, and 24 minutes , not rated and made possible through Kanopy. This program is free and open to the public.
