Back-To-School Perspective: Everything Is Going To Be Great!

My name is Hannah and I go to third grade in Sycamore. I’m going to miss summer because it’s really fun playing with my sister because she builds a lot of really good Lego sets.

Last year was my first year at Sycamore. Before that I lived in another state. With almost all last year being remote, going to school this year is kind of tough because it still feels like a new school for me.

I definitely don’t like the masks, but I’m OK with wearing them to help keep us all safe. And I’m really glad that I get to do in-person school. I even get my own locker with my name on it! I really like all the games we get to play, like the math games and reading games.

Last year with remote school, I feel like the teachers weren’t able to get to know me very well, or what I needed to learn. Like the school hasn’t really tested me yet –- I feel like everything in math is really easy.

I can’t wait until everything is normal again. No masks or social distancing. Last year I was sad there weren’t any school activities, and this year I’m excited to do school activities like Rainbow Run, Book Blazers and Battle of the Books. So far I’ve made a few friends, but no real good friends yet. Even though this school year might be a challenge too, I know everything is going to be great.

I’m Hannah Tallacksen and that’s my Perspective.

Hannah Tallacksen is a student in Sycamore. She loves reading, drawing, spending time with her family, and playing with her sister. When she grows up, she says she wants to be ‘everything!’
