Perspective: The circus is in town, part II

Pixabay

The circus is in town and the clowns are lining up to outdo each other, bowing and scraping to the Ringleader in charge. I am not talking about acrobats on high flying wires. I’m talking about the current crop of decision/Cabinet members, rallying around a three-ring circus of revenge, hate and cruelty.

The Ringleader’s program is clear as he handles his whip and demands fealty from everyone public and private. The whip cracks at anyone who does not bend a knee. Education, crack. Research, crack. Workers’ rights, crack. Free Speech, crack.

Too be fair, he never lied about who he was. With a Congress cowed by his whip, there is little to stop him. Three branches of government he laughs – there is one, the Center ring and his unelected Clown gleefully racing around in his little electric car.

They’re not hiding out behind carefully crafted language designed to confuse, the agenda is clear. These clowns perform cruelty in the light of day. No matter that Lives are shattered. No matter that members of our community are snatched up daylight the tossed down the immigration rabbit hole. This. Show. Sells. Cruelty.

The current crop of leaders are not just clowns – they are killer clowns, targeting people who are not armored against the Cruel agenda of nationalism cloaked in violence, not the flag.

Meanwhile, in the Center Ring, he laughs at us – “My show is biggest and best,” he lies through a cruel smirk to the sound of applause.

“The show must go on” he shouts. Make no mistake, my fellow Americans - it will, it will.
