The Kane County Health Department has confirmed the first human case of West Nile virus in the county this year.
The Health Department released the information today. A 33-year-old Geneva man contracted the virus. He was treated as an outpatient and is recovering.
There have been 13 confirmed human casesof West Nile virus in Illinois this year. No deaths have been reported.
