According to AAA, a gallon of regular gas in the Rockford area costs $1.57 on average. That’s nine cents less than last week and about 67 cents less than last year.
Chicago prices are at $1.91 per gallon. That's ten cents less than last week and about 65 cents less than a year ago.
The state average is $1.58 per gallon. That’s nine cents less than last week and 13 cents cheaper than it was last year.
On average, the cheapest gas in the state is in Decatur. It’s priced at $1.38 per gallon of regular unleaded gas, which is 14 cents less than the cheapest gas in the state last week.The national average is $1.73, which is six cents less last week but about 72 cents less than last year.
The state with the highest gas price average is Hawaii at $2.62 per gallon, which is one cent less than last week. Oklahoma has the lowest average price at $1.41 per gallon.
