Former Vice President Biden Coming To Illinois To Rally for Congressional Candidates

Whitehouse.gov

Former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden is coming to Illinois this week to drum up support for several Democratic congressional candidates.

Biden will host a rally Wednesday morning at the Kane County Fairgrounds in St. Charles to urge people to vote for Lauren Underwood in Illinois' 14th District. Biden formally endorsed Underwood in September.

Biden and Underwood will also encourage supporters to vote early.

In a press release, Biden said – quote – "This is going to be a tight race," and people shouldn't wait to cast their ballots.

Underwood's race against incumbent Randy Hultgren has drawn national attention. Some observers agree with Biden that she has a chance to win in this traditionally Republican district.

Later in the day, Biden will travel to East St. Louis to support Brendan Kelly in Illinois' 12th Congressional District. He faces Republican incumbent Mike Bost.
