Northern Illinois University will be offering free COVID testing Monday through Wednesday to students, employees, and the community.
NIU Chief of Staff to the President Matt Streb said it’s particularly timely with the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
“It does take a couple days to get the results back and many of our students will be taking off for home on Thursday or Friday the week before Thanksgiving. So we wanted to make sure that they were able to get the test and get those results back before they go home.”
Drive-thru and walk-in testing will be available in the parking lot of Anderson Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and participants should expect results in four to seven days. Streb credited the DeKalb County Health Department for making this testing possible.
