Dixon Begins Search For New City Manager

city of Dixon

Dixon aims to hire a new city manager by the end of next month.

The city council fired Cole O’Donnell last week in a 3-2 vote, with Dennis Considine, Ryan Marshall and Mike Venier voting in favor. Sauk Valley Media reports they didn't publicly comment on their decision.

However, Mayor Li Arellano Jr. said the vote was prompted by staff morale and O’Donnell not moving his primary residence to Dixon, which is required by law.

The city is forming a search committee and accepting applications for a new city manager until Sept. 8. They aim to make a final offer on Sept. 29, and the starting salary will range from $120,000 to $140,000. Dixon Police Chief Danny Langloss is serving as City Manager in the interim
