New State Law Helps Health Care Workers With Criminal Records Acquire Licenses

WUIS

A new Illinois law will help health care workers with a criminal record.

It creates a pathway for nurses, doctors, pharmacists, and others to acquire their professional license, even if they have a past conviction.   Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation spokesman Terry Horstman says applicants will undergo a thorough review.

"Health care workers who qualify for review under the law will have the opportunity to present information proving they've been rehabilitated from their conviction."

You can find more information on the new law at IDFPR's website.
