DeKalb County Clerk Tasha Sims talks about the NIU early voting location at the March to the Polls event on Oct. 27, 2026

NIU serves as an early voting location accessible to students, faculty and staff.

Tuesday's “March to the Polls” is designed to draw attention in the heart of campus to early voting and answer any questions students may have about their voter registration status.

Early voting is available in the Holmes Student Center through Friday between 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

On Election Day, students will need to vote at their own precincts.
