A volunteer association of plumbing products manufacturers has donated hundreds of faucets and other supplies to Flint, Michigan.

The Daily Herald reports that Plumbing Manufacturers International of Rolling Meadows provided the fixtures in response to Flint's drinking-water crisis, in which high levels of lead have been found.

A team of nearly 470 plumbers from local unions installed the faucets, supplies and water filters.

Barbara Higgins is CEO of Plumbing Manufacturers International. She says it was inspiring to see hundreds of volunteers gathered with a can-do attitude.

Members of Plumbing Manufacturers International contributing to the program were American Standard Brands, BrassCraft Manufacturing Co., Delta Faucet Co., Fluidmaster Inc., Kohler Co., Moen Inc., Speakman Co. and Viega.
