LATEST: October 12-The Prairie Grove 46 Board of Education announced that the Board and the Teachers' Association have reached an agreement after 7 and ½ hours of mediation. The sole remaining issue revolved around health insurance contributions.
PREVIOUS: Classes have been canceled for Friday, October 12th in the Prairie Grove School District after teachers informed the school board that they will be on strike. The board and teacher negotiations teams met for over six hours Thursday night with the federal mediator and were unable to reach agreement.
According to the district's website, the board has agreed to the union salary requests and the union request for a “salary schedule”. The school board and the teacher's association have agreed to the amount of money that the board will contribute for health insurance premiums.
