FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 9-10-22 Tom Mac-- Concerts on the Creek (Indoors).
The Tom Mac Group puts its own fresh face on American, English, and Cuban music written from the 1800's to the current time, engaging even the most diverse audiences and easily shifting from Stephen Foster, George Gershwin and Woody Guthrie to Mark Knopfler, Sting, James Taylor, and country Cuban music. It is led by Tom Mac (acoustic guitar and vocals), who was once the opening act for the Beach Boys. Doors open at 6 pm, and the concert runs from 7 – 9 PM. The location is Spring Creek Church, 4500 Spring Creek Rd, Rockford. Attendance is limited to 150 listeners. Walk-in seating will be available until the attendance limit is reached. Admission is free; listeners are encouraged to make a $10 free-will donation during the concert, with funds collected used to pay the musicians and help to defray the church's event hosting costs. Those who wish guaranteed seating regardless of what time they arrive may make an online advanced donation in the form of a $6 ticket at https://www.springcreekucc.org/concerts. For more details, or to make special advanced donation arrangements, phone 815-979-1949 or email cotc4500@gmail.com. We offer free off-street parking for 95 vehicles; concert is indoors, and our all-on-one-floor listening area is easily accessible. Acoustics are excellent. Pre-packaged ice cream and other treats, as well as soft drinks, will be available for sale before the concert and during intermission.
Thanks to event sponsor Oak Street Health, which will underwrite the ticket price for concertgoers for whom a $6 donation would create a hardship, and to event host Spring Creek Church.
