A development company plans to open a call center in Rockford that would create 500 jobs.
First Rockford Group plans to renovate the vacant K's Merchandise building for the ServiCom "Center for Excellence." ServiCom plans to move into the space by December 1.
A company press release says that the facility would provide technical support for a large cable and telecommunications company.
On September 4, the Winnebago County Board approved a $150,000 grant for repairs to the K's parking lot.
