Andy Newgren is an Assistant Professor and a Reference and Instructional Librarian at Rockford University. He teaches information literacy and concentrates on information-seeking behavior and critical-information literacy.
In 2015, he followed his wife Rebecca to Rockford, where she is the senior pastor at Second Congregational First Presbyterian Church. Previously he worked at Princeton Theological Seminary focusing on the intersection of technology, research, and learning. Andy also serves as the Director of Theological Engagement at Second First Church.
His hobbies include finding ways to stay fit while simultaneously avoiding injuries, striving to become an amateur chef, supporting underdog sports teams, and changing his mind.
He holds a master’s degree in library science from Rutgers University and a master’s in divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary.
