He supports WNIJ's efforts to engage northern Illinois' Spanish-speaking communities through bilingual reporting, publishing and engagement. He is responsible for developing and managing Spanish-language content across broadcast, digital and social platforms. He is from Elgin, Illinois.

Peter joins WNIJ as a graduate of North Central College. He is a native of Sandwich, Illinois.

Mike Lundgren has been with WNIJ since early 2023. He is a Kishwaukee College and Northern Illinois University graduate with degrees in computer-aided drafting and new media technology. Born and raised in northern Illinois, NPR voices could always be heard in his home growing up. As a co-producer for "Sessions from Studio A," Lundgren says he "feels very much at home" and actually "gets most his new music from Sessions artists." He's also a big fan of Echoes. When not in the Sessions' Studio, Lundgren can be found developing audio plug-ins in his home studio, watching "Star Trek" reruns, or spending quality time with family, especially his dog Boo.

David took over as regular host of The WNIJ Saturday Blues. He looks forward to playing a unique mix of music every weekend.

Guy Stephens produces news stories for the station and coordinates the online events calendar, PSAs and arts calendar announcements. In these roles, Stephens helps keep the listening community informed about what is happening at the national and local levels. He has degrees in music and spent several years as a classical host on WNIU. After nearly 20 years with Northern Public Radio, the best description of his job may be "other duties as required."

Tyler Sutton joined WNIJ/WNIU in June 2025, bringing years of experience as a fundraising professional, music educator and arts advocate. A passionate supporter of public radio, he believes in its role as a free, trusted source of news and conversation and in its power to build community. His favorite programs include "Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!" and "1A." Outside the station, Sutton enjoys building furniture in his woodshop, playing video games and spending time with his wife and children.

David Tallacksen has been listening to radio since his early years, when he tuned in to crackly late-night AM talk shows on his GE radio alarm clock long after he had gone to bed and should have been sleeping. He became a public radio listener in high school when he discovered "Car Talk" and NPR news magazines on WNIJ and later worked at WNIU while a student at NIU.

Marielle Segarra was WHYY's Keystone Crossroads reporter. She reported for the multi-station partnership on urban policy, crumbling infrastructure and how distressed Pennsylvania cities are bouncing back. As a freelance radio reporter, her stories have also aired on Latino USA, WNYC, WBUR and other NPR member stations.
