Rockford police are investigating a New Years Day shooting at Cliffbreakers Riverside Hotel and Conference Center.
The Register-Star reports a fight broke out in a hallway at 3:30 Sunday morning. This resulted in four people getting shot. Three of these victims were hospitalized but their names were not released. The fourth victim, 34-year-old Joshua Jamerson, died of his wounds. His name was released by the Winnebago County Coroner.
The incident follows a similar one in October when more than 20 gunshots were fired in the Cliffbreakers parking lot. Rockford Police Chief Dan O'Shea says investigators are trying to figure out exactly what happened Sunday.
