The most expensive gas in Illinois can be found in the city of Chicago, at $2.84 per gallon.
By contrast, the cheapest gas is in Bloomington-Normal, with a per-gallon price of $2.13.
Rockford's average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $2.38, nearly identical to the state average.
