The second person wanted in connection with a Rockford drug raid that netted nearly $8.6 million in illegal drugs has surrendered to police.
Rafael Ruiz, 26, turned himself into police Monday and was sent to the Winnebago County Jail, with bond is set at $1 million. He's charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
He is the son of Luis Ruiz, 58, who was arrested during the search and seizure last month at 629 16th Ave. The elder Ruiz was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
Officials reported that 50 kilograms of cocaine, 19 kilograms of methamphetamine, and one kilogram of fentanyl were seized.
Officials also found two loaded handguns and more than $116,000 in cash.
A woman who was at the home during the search was released without charges.
