A village president in northern Illinois was charged with drug and firearm offenses. That’s after police say they found a shotgun, cocaine and crack pipes in his home.
Hebron village president John Jacobson has been charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, felony unlawful possession of ammunition and felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s office reports that officers went to his home earlier this month after Jacobson’s friend dialed 911 because Jacobson wasn’t breathing. Police say officers saw drugs and paraphernalia in plain view when they arrived at the scene.
Jacobson was hospitalized at Mercy Harvard Hospital and later released. The Associated Press reports he was arrested earlier this week and released Tuesday night after posting bond.
