There are 100 homes on the city’s wish list for demolition this year.
First Ward Alderman Tim Durkee told the city council earlier this week that the homes are ranked by condition:
"Planning and Development created the list to make the properties for demolition ranked as objective as possible. The list is dynamic."
He explains if a home on the list catches fire, it could be fast-tracked to take down due to safety.
Todd Cagnoni is Director of Community and Economic Development.
"Someone may pursue an alternative course for the properties, or they may object to the properties as we have had historically. That is why the list is also 100 properties. We will break it down into a number of demolition batches."
