A small group of protesters walked along Lincoln Highway and stopped at the Kishwaukee River that runs along the road to protest against the Enbridge oil pipeline extension through DeKalb County.
The Saturday morning march was co-sponsored by the NIL Justice League; Green Paws Environmental Alliance, a Northern Illinois University student group; Elgin Green Groups 350; and 350Kishwaukee.
The group assembled near Castle Drive and Lincoln Highway and walked along Lincoln Highway, stopping briefly at the Kishwaukee River bridge while several attendees spoke, among them NIU student Gabriel Smith, Vice-President of the Green Paws Environmental Alliance.
The protest ended at Lincoln Highway and First street at Memorial Park. 350 Kishwaukee continued with a march in Elgin.
