Virtual Tour of the National Constitution Center’s “The Story of We the People,” Exhibit

On Tuesday, June 14th, at 6:00 p.m. central, the LaSalle Public Library will virtually host Madison Steele, Coordinator of Learning Experiences from the National Constitution Center, for a virtual tour of the Center’s exhibit, “The Story of We the People.”

Madison will guide the audience through 250 years of constitutional history, from the period before the Revolution to Present-Day, highlighting historic elections, landmark Supreme Court cases, and momentous events like the Civil War and Prohibition, revealing how the U.S Constitution is as important today, as it was in 1787. The tour presentation will explain how the government works, explore exhibits about federalism, the three branches of government, the separation of powers, checks and balances, and spotlight how “We, the People,” have influenced constitutional history.

Madison Steele is the Coordinator of Learning Experiences at the National Constitution Center. In this capacity, she serves as a member of the Center’s education team developing digital resources, delivering educational programs, and cultivating key educational partnerships to foster a deeper appreciation of the Constitution, U.S. History, and civil dialogue among learners nationwide.

The program will be presented online, via Zoom, and is free and open to all. Register – https://bit.ly/3NuNoNu. For more information, please contact the LaSalle Public Library at 815-223-2341.
