Three northern Illinois residents have been reappointed to seats on state boards by Gov. Bruce Rauner.
DeKalb County Circuit Clerk Maureen Josh will again be a member of the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, where she served from 2000 to 2006.
Josh has been the DeKalb County Circuit Clerk since 1984, where she is the keeper of court records. She manages a team of 35 other clerks while working with the court system as well as the general public. She previously worked as a secretary for the DeKalb County State’s Attorney.
She also has served on the Attorney General’s Victim of Violent Crime Committee and the Long-Range Planning Committee for the Illinois State Bar Association. She has been president of the Northeast Illinois Circuit Clerk Association and served on the Illinois Association of Illinois Court Clerks executive board.
Josh earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. She lives in Sycamore.
Hoffman Estates Environmental Health Officer David Banaszynski and Whiteside County Public Health Administrator Beth Fiorini were renamed to the State Board of Health.
Banaszynski has 18 years of experience in public health and has served on the state board since 2012. In his position as a health officer, he inspects establishments and businesses to ensure they’re safe for patrons. He also responds to concerns about common public health issues like lead, radon, mold and West Nile virus.
Banaszynski earned his bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University. He lives in Huntley.
As the chief Whiteside County health officer, Fiorini is responsible for all areas of the public health department and the community health center. She previously was the Director of Nursing.
Fiorini also serves on the Ebola Task Force previously served on the Maternal and Child Health Advisory Board. She has served on the State Board of Health since 2014.
Fiorini earned her bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University and her master’s degree in hospital administration from the College of St. Francis. She lives in Rock Falls.
