Chicago Bears Hope To Serve Thanksgiving Defeat To Detroit Lions

ChicagoBears.com

The Chicago Bears are prepping for their Thanksgiving showdown with the Detroit Lions.

The Bears have won two games in a row -- but quarterback Jay Cutler and the offense struggled last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Cutler says it won’t get any easier against the Lions 3rd-ranked defense.

"They do a great job of collapsing the pocket. They’re coming off the edge and they’ve got the big guys forcing the guards right in your lap. So we’re going to have to invent some ways to get creative and find a way to push the ball down a little bit because it’s going to be tough to dink and dunk these guys 5 yards at a time down the field."

This is the 16th time the Bears have played the Lions on Thanksgiving. It’s a big game for both teams; Detroit is fighting to stay alive in the playoff race.

Meanwhile, a win for the Bears would get them to 6 and 6 with 4 games left to play. The Lions are 7 and 4 but they’ve lost two in a row.

Chicago’s defensive end Willie Young used to play for the Lions:

"They’ll be a lot of flying around and guys taking shots. This is a big game for both of us. We gotta play them twice. I’m excited going back to Detroit and what not, I know a lot of the guys so it will be a very interesting game."

The game kicks off at 11:30 this morning in Detroit.
