Northern Illinois University quarterback Jordan Lynch is a finalist for the Heisman trophy. Lynch is one of six finalists for the award which will be announced Saturday. He'll join 2012 winner Johnny Manziel, along with Tre Mason, AJ McCarron, Andre Williams, and Jameis Winston in New York City.

The finalists were announced Monday night on ESPN. Inviting six finalists to the ceremony is the most since 1994. Winston, a freshman at Auburn, is said to be the overwhelming favorite to win. His status was in question until a sexual assault complaint against him was closed without charges being filed.

Manziel won the Heisman last year.

Jordan Lynch is the first Huskie to be named a finalist for the most prestigious award in college football.
