A DeKalb County judge will rule in a fifty-year-old rape case. Jury selection was expected Monday in the trial of Jack McCullough, but he opted to forgo the jury trial for a bench trial. He's the Washington-state man accused of sexually assaulting a northern Illinois girl decades ago. McCullough was charged with rape and indecent liberties with a child for the alleged abuse of a 14-year-old Sycamore girl from 1961 to 1962. Opening statements begin Tuesday.
The 72-year-old also faces kidnapping and murder charges in the 1957 death of Maria Ridulph, also of Sycamore.
