Security Guard Will Not Face Homicide Charges For Fatally Shooting Rockford Bank Robbery Suspect

Video footage released by Rockford Police Department

Brian Harrison will not face homicide charges for killing an Alpine Bank robbery suspect Jan. 20.

34-year-old Laurence Turner of Rockford collapsed from gunshot wounds after exchanging fire with Harrison.

Turner entered the bank shooting into the air before aiming at the Metro Security Guard on duty; Harrison fired back at Turner until he collapsed.

Security footage captured the incident.

Investigators determined the security guard’s use of deadly force was justified.

Harrison is a retired deputy for the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department.
