Wisconsin Governor Calls Election Results "Incredible Opportunity"

State of Wisconsin

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker tells fellow Republicans they have an ``incredible opportunity to lead'' as he heads into his second term. Republicans increased their majority in the state legislature in last week's election.

Walker spoke with Republicans Monday when they met publicly to elect their legislative leaders. He told them voters want action and they can do it better than what he calls the "dysfunctional federal government."

Meanwhile, Democrat Mary Burke says she definitely will not run for any other statewide office after losing the governor's race to Walker.  Burke spoke with reporters Monday for the first time since the election. She says she doesn't regret spending five million dollars of her own money on the failed campaign. She's not planning to remain a big player in Democratic politics, but will try to retain her seat on the Madison school board.
