Sycamore City Council Approves Bike Path License For Park District

city of Sycamore

The Sycamore City Council approved a license agreement paving the way for a bike path along the west side of Airport Road.

The Daily Chronicle reports the path would connect Route 64 to the main entrance of the Sycamore Park District’s sports complex.

The project will cost about $100,000, with the city paying 20% of that cost.  They'll build the path, while maintenance will be left in the hands of the park district.

Mayor Ken Mundy says the new path will make the road safer for both cyclists and motorists.  Sycamore's city engineer will also work to place warning signs and paint markings along the new path.
