League Of Women Voters Recharges In DeKalb County

The League of Women Voters is becoming more active in DeKalb County.

The DeKalb County branch of the League was founded about 100 years ago as a nonpartisan organization.

Dr. Linh Nguyen is the President of the local branch.

She says that with an upcoming election, it is more important than ever to vote.

“We want people to have the desire, the right, the knowledge, and the confidence to participate in local government.”

She says that the league also actively fights voter suppression; advocating for accessible voting.

The DeKalb League will have a forum in early October to familiarize voters with the candidates for local elections. Dr. Nguyen says this aligns with the goal of providing trusted information to voters.

To submit questions for the candidates at the forums, send your questions to candidateforum08@gmail.com before Sept. 15th.
