The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin through mid-day Saturday. Snow, heavy at times, and blowing snow are predicted. Totals of from 3-7" south of I-88 and 4-9" north of I-88 are forecast, with higher totals possible in some locations. In addition, there will be drifting from blowing snow. The Weather Service says driving conditions will be hazardous. Localities are activating snow emergencies limiting travel and parking as well.

DeKalb Park District: adult soccer games are canceled Friday night. Decision on youth games will be made between 7 and 8 Saturday morning.
Rockford Park District's UW Health Sports Factory: evening programs canceled, facility closes at 5.
Rockford Park District's Indoor Sports Center at Mercyhealth Sportscore Two: closes at 9:30 pm.
Rockford Public Schools - canceled all after-school activities
Belvidere Park District - canceling all athletic programs, leagues and lessons for Saturday
Freeport YMCA - weekend activities canceled through Sunday, including athletic activities
Rockford YMCA - closing early at 8:00 P.M.
Rockford YMCA Kids' Program - canceled for Friday
Winnebago Public Library - closed through Saturday
Aquin Catholic Schools - Friday activities canceled
Durand Schools - Friday Boys Basetball game canceled
Forrestville Schools - Friday and Saturday activities canceled
Janesville Schools - Friday activities canceled
North Boone Schools - Friday activities canceled
Pearl City Schools - Friday Girls Basketball game, other activities canceled
Winnebago School District #323 - Friday activities and athletic activities canceled
Rock River Valley YMCA - no after school activities
Belvidere YMCA - Teen Night canceled
Children's Safe Harbor - closed for supervised visits and safe child exchange
Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful - waste recycling program closed until Tuesday
Rockford Household Hazardous Waste Collection - closed through Sunday
Gigi's Playhouse Rockford - Friday Friends canceled
