Northern Illinois University has been at the center of several court cases this year.
A lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court by an NIU biology professor claimed he was denied salary increases in-line with similarly situated non-Indian faculty members.
Court documents alleged the university "willfully and deliberately" subjected the professor to discrimination on the basis of his race since he was hired in 1983.
According to court documents, the case was dismissed without prejudice earlier this month and all future court dates canceled.
A separate case involves the university’s former Controller. Keith Jackson says he was wrongfully terminated.
In court documents, he claimed university officials repeatedly made false and damaging statements about unprofessional conduct that he says made it difficult for him to find employment elsewhere.
That case is still pending.
An initial status hearing scheduled for this month has been reset to Jan. 24.
