LCMCTF.org

The Lake County Major Crime Task Force will investigate an officer-involved shooting in Antioch. That's according to a news release.

Deputies from the Lake and McHenry County Sheriff’s Offices were involved in a shooting early Saturday with Gerald Boyes in a bar parking lot. The 53-year-old was wanted for a probation violation in Florida and in possession of a vehicle, which was reported stolen in Florida.

Police say the wanted man brandished a handgun while they tried to take him into custody. He was then shot by officers.

The paramedics were called to the scene by police and it was determined he was dead.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office is scheduled to perform an autopsy this morning.
