“The most significant March snowstorm in several years” is how the National Weather Service in Chicago is describing the storm we are bracing for here in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. We’re looking at 7 to 10 inches of snow, even heavier in some areas, developing late tonight and continuing through Tuesday.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect starting at midnight Monday through midnight Tuesday. Both the National Weather Service and Illinois State Police advise against travel Tuesday: if you must be on the roads, allow a considerable amount of extra time to get where you are going and pack emergency supplies, such as food, water, a flashlight, and warm clothing.
For the latest on your area, such as when to expect the worst of the snowfall, check the National Weather Service’s website.
