State Police Searching For 'Armed And Dangerous' Suspect Near Rockford

Illinois State Police

Illinois State Police and other police agencies are still looking for 22-year-old Kody R. Walsh of Rockford. He's the suspect in a shooting death inside a vehicle on the Illinois tollway near South Beloit early Sunday morning.

Walsh is also believed to have been involved in a police chase after the shooting, which ended in a crash near Springfield and School streets in Rockford. There, police say Walsh fled on foot and fired at least one shot toward police, who did not return fire. No one was injured.

The State Police have released the identity of the victim: 36-year-old Lori Ann Daniels of Janesville, Wisconsin.

A Winnebago County judge has issued a first-degree murder warrant for Walsh.

Police warn that Walsh is considered to be armed and dangerous, so do NOT approach him. They encourage anyone knowing his whereabouts to call the State Police at 815-239-1152, the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department at 815-319-6300  or 911.

(Correction: Lori Daniels' address was originally listed in this story as Beloit, Wisconsin. She lived in Janesville.)
