The Chicago Brass Band Players will open the 2022-23 McHenry County College (MCC) Concert Series on Sunday, October 9 at 3 p.m. The concert will take place at the College’s Luecht Auditorium, 8900 US Hwy. 14, Crystal Lake, IL 60012.
The specialized ensemble will perform a festive celebration of Oktoberfest tunes as well as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. The performance will feature sounds of the trumpet, horn, trombone, and bass trombone.
The MCC Concert Series features a variety of classical, jazz, and folk musicians from the greater Chicago area, along with semiannual concerts featuring the MCC chorus, concert band, and jazz ensemble. Upcoming performances include a special Halloween Concert by the MCC Concert Band and Crystal Lake Community Band at Cary-Grove High School on Oct. 30 at 3 p.m.; the MCC Concert Band on November 20 at 3 p.m. at Woodstock High School; MCC Jazz Ensembles on November 30 at 7 p.m.; and the MCC Chorus on December 1 at 7 p.m.
The concerts are free of charge and open to the public.
