Mandolin and Fiddle Crossover Chamber Music concert, R.Wesley Carr Mandolin and Fiddle

Westminster Presbyterian Church of Dekalb, as part of its community outreach, will be featuring Mandolin and Fiddle player R . Wesley Carr. Carr will present the Vivaldi concerto in D with a chamber orchestra, and will also be performing Bluegrass numbers in a concert that will feature a crossover of bluegrass and Classical styles.

R.Wesley Carr is an award winning multi-instrumentalist from Creston, Illinois. He is the winner of the prestigious National Mandolin Championships as well as a winner in the NewSong Songwriting Showcase (religion category). Specializing in bluegrass and traditional American music, Wes graduated Cum Laude from East Tennessee State's Bluegrass, Country, and Old-Time music degree where he studied with five time Grammy winning mandolinist, Adam Steffey. Prior to attending ETSU, Wes studied classical music with guitar virtuoso, Fareed Haque at Northern Illinois University. Between performances, Wes can be found teaching in DeKalb, Illinois where he maintains a robust roster of students or leading worship at Living Waters Community Church in Rochelle, Illinois.
