This is a free outdoor Music Concert in the park. Please realize as an outdoor event guidelines are more relaxed at this time, however, Vaccines are recommended and masks are highly encouraged. Also in your seating choices as the Band Shell is very accommodating please attempt a 6-foot distance between families.

This day will include Chih-i Hsiao (Daniel), Misspent Youth (Dave D K Kolars, Dale Ludwig, Mike Warfel), The Real Jazz Quartet (featuring Gavin Wilson), Chamni Sripraram, Lisy Celine, I PLAY WITH SOUND (sonic participation improvisation with Byron Wise), and Alex Degroovia.

I Play with Sound Byron Wise invites participants to create an improvised sonic collage with modern expressive instruments. This is a workshop preview to be later announced and realized at the DeKalb Public Library next year.

Chih-i Hsiao (Daniel) - Instrumentalist: Daniel was trained by an Erhu Master focusing on the traditional as well as Xiqu (Chinese opera) style. An explorer of many musical styles such as Indian music (both tala and raga) he also plays Koto, Sentien, Xite, Klong Yao, Kompang, Banhu, and riqq. He adds, “I discovered a big world. I love to learn from different music and culture to enrich my thoughts in music.”

Misspent Youth - Bluegrass - Dave D K Kolars, Dale Ludwig, Mike Warfel: If you know any of these folks you know this group is nothing less than a local legacy, and a personal journey in Bluegrass that is all parts friendship, unrelenting discipline to a craft, and presents as easy as a joke that will keep you smiling when you look back 20 years later and still laugh. Come and listen to this treasure. They are this good.

Alex Degroovia - Soundscape Guitar Instrumentalist: Delicate, Serene, and Affecting. An alternate tuning aficionado Alex invites you listen to the joys, sorrows, and journey of his musical craft.

The Real Jazz Quartet - Jazz and Pop: Gavin Wilson and company bolster and occupy that space of the great entertainers that carry on the legacy of bringing Jazz standards to the open air. The music is as fresh for the child or the well-traveled.

Chamni Sripraram - As a Thai Scholar, and Musician Chamni creates a musical experience that is meant to be inhabited by the audience. His music is both playful and thought provoking. Known for his encouragement of audience participation please feel free to dance to his wonderful cascading polyphonic textures as he plays the Khaen (Thai mouth organ).

Lisy Celine - Folk Pop Songwriter: Lisy Celine is the partnership whimsy and wisdom. Self-taught in ukulele and guitar. Lisy has a voice that transcends feeling. Lyrics are the wings on which she soars. In her words “Music is my passion, my heart, and my home”.
