Event Description

In this course, participants will get a chance to hear great speeches, as well as learn practical tips for any public speaking situation: overcoming fear and other obstacles, using voice and body language, practicing, sharing personal experience and using stories, when possible. Convener: Jitka Hurych has been a member of LLI since her retirement from the NIU Library. She has already presented several courses for LLI, most recently on language and society. The Northern Illinois University Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI), established in 2000, is a member-directed group of individuals primarily age 50 plus who enjoy learning in informal, flexible, non-competitive groups and like connecting with peers who share their interests. No grades, no tests – just Learning for the Fun of It.
