The long struggle for women’s suffrage shows us that activism isn’t new but that it has been woven into individual and collective stories of empowerment for a very long time.
Committed people have always brought about social and political change by grouping with others of like mind – and we still do this today. In this exhibit, marking 100 years since the ratification of the 19th Amendment, artists will celebrate women’s empowerment – not only at the ballot box, but in all aspects of life. Prepare yourself for a call to action in this visual exploration of power, purpose, pathos and possibility in Ratified! Not Denied!
This art show is part of the Women’s Suffrage Centennial, celebrating 100 years of women’s right to vote. For more information about this year-long celebration, visit the WSC2020 Facebook page: www.facebook.com/WSC2020IL/
