Major Airline Bringing Service Work To Rockford

united.com

A major airline will now service many of its planes in Rockford.

A-A-R Corporation announced Thursday that United Airlines will use A-A-R’s maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at Chicago Rockford International Airport as a maintenance hub. The site will handle the airline’s Boeing 737 fleet and other aircraft. The service agreement runs through 2025. A-A-R says it will bring 250 new jobs to the region.

Local and state officials applauded the contract. Mayor Tom McNamara, Illinois U.S. Representative Cheri Bustos, and Illinois U.S. Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin said that it represents an important investment in the facility and the Rockford area.
