Nikki Safford is a graduate of DeKalb High School, with a B.A. in Sociology from Northern Illinois University. She has over 16 years of experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities in her current role as Residential Director for a local non-profit agency.
She is a Member of the Board of Trustees for the Kishwaukee United Way. She is married to a 22-year veteran of the United States Coast Guard and lives with her two rescue Chihuahuas.
Nikki is an avid runner, completing four marathons, several half marathons and local races. This past summer, she hiked Mt. Bierstadt, a 14,065 foot high mountain summit on the front range of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. She is proud to be a member of the 14-ers and is excited for her next trek. She enjoys cooking, biking, camping and repurposing furniture.
