Catherine Forslund is the Isabel Ross Abbott Professor of History and Women’s Studies and chair of the History, Politics, and International Studies department at Rockford University. She is a Chicagoland native who earned her Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.
She teaches a wide variety of U.S. history plus modern Chinese history. Her publications include Anna Chennault: Informal Diplomacy and Asian Relations and We are a College at War: Women Working for Victory in WWII (co-authored). She also examines editorial cartoons as historical narratives.
Currently, she is busy as director of the Institute of World Affairs and Trade at Rockford University. She spent much of the last 3+ decades engaged in various community and political activities.
