Angela Clay-Thomas

Angela C. Thomas is Executive Director of the Pregnancy Information Center, which provides medical services and education to individuals facing an unexpected pregnancy. In 2016, she became the first African-American woman elected to serve on the Kane County Board. Thomas has built her career in policy, management consulting and nonprofit development.

More recently, she served as Director of Development and External Affairs for the Quad County Urban League, which covers Kane, Kendall, DuPage, and Will counties. In 2011, Thomas established Clay Thomas Consulting to assist nonprofits increase community presence, engage prospective donors, and expand programs and services.

Thomas currently serves as President of the William L. Clay Scholarship & Research Fund (WLCSRF) named in honor of her grandfather, William L. “Bill” Clay, Sr., the first African-American elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Missouri and a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Thomas received her B.S. in Communication from the University of Miami in 1993 and her Masters in Business Administration from The American University in Washington, D.C. in 1996. Formerly Angela Clay from Silver Spring, MD, Thomas has resided in Aurora, IL with her husband, Attorney Juan Thomas, since 2008. They are both members of St. John AME Church in Aurora.
