Where Is Ex-Rep. Aaron Schock?

An attorney pursuing a federal lawsuit against former U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock of Peoria says he can’t find the beleaguered Republican ex-lawmaker to serve him in the civil case.

Daniel Kurowski filed the lawsuit on April 15 on behalf of Chicago resident Howard Foster, who donated $500 to Schock’s campaign in 2012. Kurowski told U.S. District Judge Andrea Wood that he has been unable to locate Schock to serve papers.

The suit demands that Schock repay millions of campaign dollars to Foster and other contributors on grounds Schock tricked them into believing and supporting him. As of the end of March, Schock’s campaign reported a cash balance of $3.2 million.

Schock, 33, resigned from Congress on March 31 He is the subject of a federal investigation. Former staff members went to Springfield in April to testify before a grand jury.

Foster’s lawsuit before U.S. District Judge Andrea Wood is a class-action RICO complaint.

Election dates to fill Schock's vacant seat are July 7 for the primary vote and Sept. 10 for the final vote.
