Lawyers for the University Village housing complex in DeKalb denied discrimination Wednesday against the family involved in a settlement announced this week.
The Daily Chronicle reports apartment officials denied failing to reasonably accommodate Regina Wallace.
Wallace, who used a cane or wheelchair, allegedly requested a first-floor apartment when she applied to live there two years before the lawsuit. She ended up in a third-floor apartment in a building without an elevator.
Managers allegedly never offered available first-floor apartments to her, despite her repeated requests for one.
The complex settled for 255-thousand dollars. The suit was filed in federal court in August 2013.
