Swift Night Out

Swift Night Out

Swift Night Out is a continent-wide effort to raise awareness about Chimney Swifts and their need for roosting habitat. Learn a bit about these aerial insectivores that spend almost their entire lives airborne, then join us in heading to downtown Beloit to watch them enter their roost sites for the evening. Chimney Swifts nest throughout the eastern half of the United States and depend on large roosting sites in late summer to prepare for migration to South America.

This program will begin indoors at Nature At The Confluence, followed by a group caravan to downtown to observe the swifts. We will park in the free, public parking lot behind Bushel & Peck’s at 321 Broad St, Beloit, WI 53511 and walk from there. All ages welcome and no experience is necessary. This program is presented by Nature At The Confluence and the Green-Rock Audubon Society.
